  11. I just got my first 1571, and it does a couple of things that bug me. 
  12. First, when I shut the power off on the computer, the drive light comes on
  13. for a second and the drive motor runs, like my 1541's do, but the 1571
  14. keeps running forever, even though the drive light goes off after a
  15. second.  Is this normal?

  17. Second, if I insert a 1541 formatted disk and try to get a directory
  18. (usually from within Desterm), the light flashes a lot and it takes
  19. forever.  Is this because the drive is in 1571 mode, and is having trouble
  20. reading the 1541 disk?  (this just occurred to me) If so, should  I just
  21. send a U0M0 to put it into 1541 mode first?
  22. Desterm has a disk command option in the drive menu, so that would be no
  23. problem.
